And this will be a new section. And is called Good Deeds because it focused on philanthropy and fashion. Good Deeds and fashion makes an excellent couple. And I will try to be there whenever I can. And this time we had to save the parrots.
In my country Puerto Rico we have a kind of parrot(Amazona vittata) And personally I had seen enough of them from my childhood because my father is from San Germán and there were a lot of these parrots over there. But it is in danger of extinction. And here is the good deed since there are research being made to try to save this species and they are in need of funds.
Dr. Oleksyk leads what is known as Puerto Rican Parrot Genome Project. This project is responsible for making relevant research to save the Puerto Rican Parrot. But to manage that they need to have a good capital and they must raise funds. And that's where "Save the Parrot with Style" comes in.
And in the event there were multiple designers runways,sales of works of art, raffles and more. And all proceeds go directly to saving parrots. Is a very nice touch.
And I could not miss the opportunity to see the local fashion and also cooperate with a good cause. Here are some photos I have of the runways that were presented on the night by several local designers as Kamarys Gonzalez,
Nathalia López and Orlando Emmanuel as well as my outfit that I could not miss to post.

Y esta sera una nueva sección. Y se llama Buenas Obras porque esta enfocada en las labores filantrópicas y la moda. Las Buenas Obras y la Moda hace excelente pareja. Y yo tratare de estar allí Cada vez que pueda. Y esta vez nos toco salvar cotorras.
En mi Pais Puerto Rico tenemos una especia de cotorra (Amazona vittata) Y en lo personal ya había visto bastante de ellas desde mi niñez ya que mi padre es de San Germán y allá se veían mucho estas cotorras. Pero la misma esta en peligro de extinción. Y es aquí donde esta la buena obra ya que las investigaciones que se hacen para tratar de salvar esta especie necesitan fondos.
El Dr. Oleksyk lidera lo que se conoce como Puerto Rican Parrot Genome Project. Este proyecto se encarga de hacer las investigaciones pertinentes para salvar la Cotorra Puertorriqueña. Pero para lograr tener un buen capital hay que recaudar fondos. Y es ahí donde entra “Save the Parrot with Style”.
Y en este evento hubo pasarelas de varios diseñadores,ventas de obras de artes,rifas entre otras cosas. Y todo lo recaudado va directo a salvar las cotorras. Un detalle muy bonito.
Y yo no podía perder la oportunidad de ver la moda local y a la vez cooperar con una buena causa. Aquí les tengo varias fotos de las pasarelas que fueron presentadas en la noche por varios diseñadores locales como Kamarys Gonzalez,Nathalia López y Orlando Emmanuel así como mi atuendo que no podía faltar.
